Las Vegas is home to casinos which gamblers and tourists all over the world visits just to try their luck on a game or two or even more. Now, it seems like it is not the only big city which can cater wholesome entertainment to thrill seekers around the globe.
Soon, Vegas-like casinos will be on their way towards gaining dominance in the entertainment arena in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan after its ruling Liberal Democratic Party is planning to propose a legislation to legalize the operation of casinos.
Presently there are about 120 countries with casinos and Japan’s not one of them since the operation of such has always been prohibited under the country’s Penal Code. However, several municipal governments proved their interest in casinos.
The LDP is planning to submit the legislation early this year after their casino study committee have organized the details on casino restrictions and how to distribute receipts of gaming operators.
In addition, the LDP aims to organize their own independent security personnel to investigate, help maintain order and prevent crimes in casinos if the legislation will be approved by the Japanese government.
On the other hand, inspectors of this probable organization will be assigned to screen casino business licenses, conduct thorough investigations of casino operators, check and monitor casino employees, and give certification to casino equipment.
Moreover, these watchdogs will be funded by casino revenues instead of tax revenues. The LDP panel is also open to ideas of imposing appropriate penalties especially to casino operators who allow minors within their establishment.
In order to achieve their goal, the LDP is seeking the support of its coalition partner, the new Komeito Party, and the opposition Democratic Party of Japan to help pass the legislation and earn approval from the government to legalize casinos.
If the bill will be successful, chances are there will be a vast opportunity for casino operators to open their doors to the Japanese people and casino enthusiasts across the globe in the years to come.
