After its stint on The Travel Channel, the World Poker Tour is now headed to GSN, the Game Network, as seen on PocketFives last year. The World Poker Tour has transformed the way people watch the worlds most played game. On the 24th of March, the sixth season of the World Poker Tour will start for all those enthusiasts who have been cringing for the next season.
The special two hour episode will mark a milestone for the network which also currently airs High Stakes Poker along with several other gaming shows. PocketFives.com formulated the plan with the Vice President for the debut of the Wolrd Poker Tour.
Kevin Belinkoff, the current Vice President of Programming – GSN, is fervently awaiting the 24th of March! He says “We’re thrilled to be in business with the World Poker Tour. We’ve looked at them for quite some time and, when the show became available, we jumped on it. We’ve actually been working with them for a year now while they’ve planned and filmed this season. They’re on the cutting edge of poker.”
According to him what makes this tour so exclusive is the various ways the company involves the home viewers to participate in the events. They have chalked out a variety of successful ways to cover as well as to analyze poker tournaments.
By editing and featuring divided screens and using high quality graphics, they enable the viewers to delve into the depths of the players mind and thought mechanisms. With the way they feature the show one can well and truly see the game literally unfold vividly.
A recent press release beautifully summed up to say that the World Poker Tournament unleashed a world wide wonder that created a position for poker as a spectator sport for television. Up until now more than a hundred shows have been aired, and more than $300 million had been awarded in cash prizes, having crowned more than 80 World Poker Tour – Poker Made Millionaires. The surprising thing about the GSN Networks is its similarity to The Travel Channel. The bulk of the viewership is women. Yes, bulk of the viewership is women, and it is a games network as they expand, poker has been quite successful for them, as women are rather loyal to t.v. poker!
