Business man shot outside casino

Businessman Tony De Marco was shot outside Maybury casino at about 11.50 PM on Tuesday night, while standing with some Asian men , as it was being reported.
As per casino member, the real target was one Asinan who owed 70000$in gambling and drug debts, but Mr De Marco was shot at , which was a really a case of mistaken identity.
Mr De Marco, 62, who is admitted in city’s western General Hospital last night , is under police protection. His condition is stated to be “ serious but not life threatening”
Mr De Marco , a well known business man could be identified as one who built up his fortune in restaurant trade lives in the village of Dander hall., near Edinburgh.
His family is well known for his number of business interest in Edinburgh including a leisure centre in grove street and corn Exchange at chesser.According to one of his neighbours, he was quite a private man and doesnot seem to socialise much in the village.
Some of the customers at casino said that the Gun men approached Mr De Marco on foot and shot him in the head at close range.He was described as white between 5’8” to 5 ‘11” tall and thin built. He wore a base ball cap and a dark jacket and dark trouser.
Police have not released the details of gun and also refused to comment on any other thing.However sniffer dog carried out serches and CCTV footage is being studied.
Detective Inspector Robert Dias who is heading investigation refused to comment on motivation of attack.He however added that Maybury casino is in the middle of busy area and there is a petrol station across the road so there may have been filling up and taxi driver picking up in the area.He further added that “ we have already spoken to several witnesses who came forward at the time and we are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.However it would be unwise to engage in speculation over a motive at this time.
The casino is locatedon one of the busiest junction of the city with 24 hour petrol station on oneside and Edinburgh Marriot station on the other.It is also on the road to city’s airport.
