The Kansas Lottery Commission has taken a lot of time in offering casino contracts to five of the casino operators in the state of Kansas. It has really taken a long time to set everything into place after casino has been approved in the state of Kansas. This news has made the gamblers of the state over excited.

It is the GTECH Corp. that has been contracted to operate the central computer system. They have been entitled to keep a control on the slots of the casinos of the state. The Kansas Lottery Commission took this step finally making the dream a reality. It is a time of merry making for the GTECH Corp.

GTECH Corp. The only competitor for GTECH Corp. was Scientific Games Corp. Keith Kocher, who happens to be the Gaming Director of the Kansas Lottery Commission said that after negotiating on the price and other associated benefits; they handed over the contract to GTECH Corp.

GTECH Corp. is already enjoying a closer monopoly on the gambling business in the state of Kansas. They are already entrusted with the work of operating the terminals and online games for the Kansas Lottery Commission. However, a few mistakes have been committed by GTECH Corp. in relation to the Kansas Lottery Commission.

It so happened that on June 29 and 30, and July 1, the operating system came up with some wrong winning numbers. This made the state to make payment for the correct winners together with those who were not entitled to it as they were declared winners previously.

Nothing has been decided as regards to what will be done with GTECH for this mistake. However, they are safe in relation to the new contract. The new contract has nothing to do with what has happened in the past. This has been pointed out by Ed Van Patten, who is the Executive Director of the Kansas Lottery Commission.

Patten has said that they have changed to an altogether new system. The software that was used in making the conversion was faulty in nature. It has got no relation with the new contract. They are altogether a different section in the company.
