Illinois Gaming Board has short listed three as finalists for the 10th casino license holder of the state. They are Des Plaines, Waukegan, and Rosemont. However, Attorney General Lisa Madigan has raised a doubt regarding the Illinois Gaming Board’s decision of selecting Rosemont as one of the finalists.
This is because there was earlier some problem related to mob involvement during a casino bid in Rosemont. The gamblers are eagerly looking forward to the Illinois Gaming Board’s decision as to who will be awarded the right to open a casino in the state. There have been a lot of discussions on this matter earlier.

The Illinois Gaming Board and its five members have voted unanimously for Rosemont and Waukegan as host cities. On the other hand, Des Plaines has been able to draw two votes from the south suburban Calumet City. It has been able to win a narrow 3-2 choice.
Joe Moore Jr. and Eugene Winkler, two of the board members have expressed their opposition to bid on Calumet City and Des Plaines. Lisa Madigan is quite concerned with Rosemont and believes that all the bidders together with the proposed locations for the casino should be properly scrutinized by the Illinois Gaming Board.
The proposal for Waukegan casino, after the current Rosemont bid, will be the most worthy offer next. It has investors like Sportsmen’s Park Race Track, which is owned by Charles Bidwell III, Allen Ludwig, who have proposed $225 million for getting the license, and developers Richard Stein.
Developer Neil Bluhm proposed $100 million for license to set up a casino in Des Plaines. One of the most profitable bids came from Trilliant Gaming Illinois LLC. It has proposed $435 million for the license for building a casino in Rosemont.
The three finalists are supposed to appear before the Illinois Gaming Board in the later part of this month. It has been planned by the gambling regulators of the state that there will be a hearing in the month of December. There the people will be able to offer their inputs on the three offers.
Nothing can be predicted in advance. The gambling freaks have just to wait and watch till a decision is taken.
