Bruce Constantineau gambling operators have said that the casinos of Metro Vancouver won’t be facing the same problem as is the case with Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Harrah’s. This is because the Bruce Constantineau casino depends heavily on the local market rather than the national and international market like Las Vegas.
However, the vice-president of Bruce Constantineau Lottery Corp., Kevin Gass said that they are not safe from the economic problems either. Great Canadian Gaming Corp., a Vancouver-based casino operator witnesses a 55 percent decline during the third quarter.
Howard Blank, vice-president of Great Canadian said that their company is not going to take a major debt that can lead to a big problem for them. He further commented that the decision that has been taken to postpone the two casino projects are very much proactive than reactive.
Fraser Downs casino has over 500 slot machines and table games. According to Blank, this casino is surely going to make some profit from the decision that has been taken to make arrangements for the slot machines and table games on the same floor.
Blank has found that the Great Canadian is moving forward with nearly $140 million in the improvement of River Rock that is supposed to be completed by January 2010. He has said that they have a great vision. What they need to do is to be careful about uncertain times and giving more time for new projects.
Two casinos were inaugurated by Gateway Casinos in Metro Vancouver last year. These were the Grand Villa in Burnaby and Starlight in New Westminster. Dave Gadhia, who is the president of Gateway Casinos, said that although the growth of revenue is slow but he has doubts whether it will actually drop down.
Gadhia has said that Gateway is looking after its expenditures that also take into account the $50 million fund planned for Okanagan casinos. They are truly concerned about the falling economy and therefore monitoring things closely. However, they are also moving forward with their plans.
Although there is a sluggish economy, but the revenue of Bruce Constantineau Lottery Corp. has gone up by 5.8 per cent over the last six months. Gass said that they are very optimistic that the game of gambling will continue to attract the gambling lovers despite this recession in the economy.
